CJC-1295 and Ipamorelin: a reference pairing

Why these two compounds are co-studied, what each contributes to a protocol design, and how to document the pairing against our registry.

Two different levers on the same axis

Growth hormone secretion in vitro is regulated from two sides. The hypothalamic GHRH signal tells the pituitary to release; somatostatin tells it to stop. CJC-1295 is a stabilized analogue of the GHRH half of that conversation, an extended-action agonist modeled on the native 1-29 sequence. Ipamorelin works from the other side entirely: it is a growth hormone secretagogue, a ghrelin-receptor agonist of the GHRP class, chosen in research designs precisely because it stimulates release without the cortisol and prolactin spillover of older members of its class.

Studied together, the pair is a deliberate overlap: one compound supplies the sustained permissive signal, the other supplies the acute pulse. That combination, a plateau plus a spike, is what the co-administration literature is actually probing, and it is why the pairing persists across study designs rather than being a habit.

Documentation practice

Record which lot of each compound entered the protocol, on which date, the MG numbers on the labels resolve to the registry, so a notebook reference is enough to reconstruct the analytical picture years later. Reconstituted vials are a new material: log the solution volume used, and treat the reconstitution date as the start of the working-material clock rather than the lot’s release date.
